EDMONTON, Canada – November 24, 2003 – ToolButton Inc. today released version 1.6 of ToolButton which incorporates a new and improved learning system for first-time users of the product. “We noticed several users had difficulty understanding how ToolButton could make their Internet experience more enjoyable”, said Dale Janssen, Chief Idea Creator and President of ToolButton Inc. “Users would have the software recommended to them by their or colleagues, download it and say ‘what do I do now?’”. ToolButton solved this by producing Flash-based animated tutorials explaining many of the basic concepts of the software. These tutorials are similar to fast-paced movies in a VCR complete with stop, start and rewind controls so the user can easily follow along (however, no popcorn is provided). There are multiple tutorials ranging from those orientated towards beginners to more advanced users. Collectively, the tutorials have a tongue-in-cheek name of The ToolButton University. The advantage to users is control. Users cannot be sent unsolicited messages and can remove the ability of the sender to communicate if the messages are not appropriate. To see the ToolButton University in action, go to www.toolbutton.com/Tour/TourDefault and click on “A Quick Tour’. In addition to these features, version 1.6 of ToolButton includes a progress indicator for the sign-in procedure, an improved threading function to improve the downloading efficiency of RSS feeds, a new auto-update function ensuring users always have the latest version of ToolButton and improvements that have dramatically reduced the size of the program. Availability Users and Web Masters wishing to install the ToolButton software may freely download the software at www.ToolButton.com or at www.download.com . The software includes the ToolButton toolbar and a series of default buttons to demonstrate the flexibility of the software. Users can install ToolButton on computers at home and the office and have their personalized toolbar available by creating one User account.
